Background
Before my introduction to interactive design, I worked in graphic design and illustration executing almost entirely for print output. Projects included bottle packaging and merchandise design for Speakeasy Ales & Lagers, branding and marketing materials for The Galley, editorial illustrations for ImagineFX, and marketing materials for Tagged.
Since joining Yahoo in 2013, I’ve worked on a long list of key company initiatives including the improvement of design operations, the redesign of Rivals, the reimagining of the iconic Yahoo homepage. I have continued contributing to the evolution of Yahoo’s product design language. I’ve worked on strategic features for Yahoo Mail, the reimagining of Yahoo Messenger, foundational aspects of a new design system for Yahoo Fantasy Sports, an all-new iconography suite for the inaugural launch of Yahoo Sports, as well as the sidebar/account experience for Yahoo Weather’s inaugural launch.
I spent five years at Flickr when I joined as a Junior, Experience Design, and eventually concluded as a Principal, Product Design. In my first year there I led the Android and iOS design efforts as part of a coordinated cross-platform launch of Flickr 4.0 — which was rated five stars on Android and iOS.
My BFA in Illustration was earned from Ringling College of Art & Design in Sarasota, Florida.
I’m a Virginian, husband, and father, and after having lived in San Francisco, California since 2007, our family has recently relocated to Virginia.
